At last, spring is here, and we’re looking to celebrate the change of season with a fresh, light breakfast menu. A yoghurt bowl is a perfect new season dish, fruity and light, yet nourishing and filling.

Here are our tried and tested spring-inspired yoghurt bowl recipes for inspiration.

 

Blueberry, homemade granola and honey

 

 

Spring sees blueberries begin to bloom! This bowl is simple yet nourishing and easy to prepare. All you need is a generous serving of Procal Authentic Greek Yoghurt, fresh blueberries, granola (we prefer homemade) and a drizzle of honey.

 

Making your own granola is efficient and more budget-friendly. Simply combine rolled oats, honey, coconut oil and cinnamon in a bowl until the oats are coated. Use equal parts coconut oil and honey to avoid the mixture becoming too oily. Add as much cinnamon as desired for flavour.

Spread the mixture onto a lined baking tray and place in the oven at 150C for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through. Once the granola is golden brown remove it from the oven and allow it to cool completely before serving. Enjoy!

 

Kiwi and cashew nut

 

This kiwi and cashew yoghurt bowl adds a tropical twist to your morning. Kiwi fruit is high in Vitamin C and dietary fibre while cashews are a great source of heart-healthy fats. Combine this with protein and calcium-rich Procal Authentic Greek Yoghurt and you have yourself a winning breakfast.

Add an extra crunch to the mix with granola or muesli of choice. Kiwi fruit is the tangy hero of this dish but it also pairs deliciously with other seasonal fruits such as blueberries, strawberries and blackberries.

Bananas are a staple on supermarket shelves year round but spring is when we see an abundance. Take your Greek yoghurt bowl to the next level with this ultimate sweet combo! All you need is Procal Authentic Greek Yoghurt, a ripe banana, natural peanut butter and dark chocolate chips. The chocolate adds a beautiful texture to the creamy yoghurt.

This bowl can be enjoyed in the morning for breakfast or in the evening as a healthier dessert alternative. Come summertime prepare and pop this one in the freezer for ten minutes before serving for a chilled and refreshing treat.
